Official Announcement: New Club Ranking System of COBEG

COBEG is introducing a brand-new Club Ranking System, which will officially begin from next month. The ongoing tournaments of the new season are already included in the Primary Ranking Phase, and within a short time, the complete ranking table will take its full shape.

How the Ranking Works?

The new ranking system is designed to be dynamic and performance-based. Several important factors will decide how many points a club gains or loses after each match:

1. Rating Difference (Winning Chance)

  • All clubs start with a base rating of 1000 points.
  • The rating points increase or decrease depending on match results.
  • Winning, drawing, or losing does not give a fixed amount of points. Instead, the points depend on the rating gap between two teams.
  • Beating a higher-rated club gives more points, while beating a lower-rated club gives fewer points.
  • Losing against a higher-rated team will cost fewer points, but losing against a lower-rated team will cost more points.
  • Drawing against a stronger team will still give points, but drawing against a weaker team may reduce rating points.

In short: The winning chance is calculated from the rating difference. Higher rating = higher chance to win, and if they lose, the penalty is heavier.

2. Tournament Value

  1. Not all tournaments carry the same importance.
  2. Matches from top-category tournaments (like COBEG’s E-Football League or Division System) have higher ranking value.
  3. Matches from lower-tier or smaller tournaments (for example, the Revolutionary Cup) carry less ranking value.
  4. This means a win in the E-Football Division will give more points compared to a win in smaller events.

3. Knockout Round Value

  • Tournaments that have both a league stage and knockout stage will follow a different rating system once knockouts begin.
  • Starting From the Round of 64, teams can earn more points compared to the Group Stage (Previous Rounds).
  • Rating points are multiplied based on the importance of the round.
  • For example: Winning the Final provides the highest rating boost, followed by the Semi-Final, Quarter-Final, and so on.

4. Result Factor

  • There is no fixed rule like “Win = +5, Draw = +2, Loss = -1.”
  • The exact points depend on the rating difference, the tournament value, and (if applicable) the knockout round weight.
  • Example: If a lower-rated team beats a much higher-rated team, they might earn 8 points. If the rating gap is smaller, the same win might give only 6 or 7 points.
  • Similarly, losing to a lower-ranked team will cost more points than losing to a stronger opponent.
  • Winning the Final of a top-tier tournament will always give more points than winning the group stage match of the same competition.

The COBEG Club Ranking System is fair, flexible, and competitive.

Stronger teams must prove themselves in every match.

Weaker teams have a real chance to climb the rankings by upsetting bigger clubs.

Tournament value and knockout multipliers ensure that prestigious competitions and decisive matches have the highest impact.

This system will bring transparency, balance, and excitement into COBEG competitions, making every match truly matter.
