COBEG is committed to offering a competitive, respectful, and fair platform for all competitors. To meet this standard, we have developed clear codes of conduct combined with well-defined sanctions in the event of a misconduct case. This will bring responsibility, consistency, and transparency to the community.

1. Infractions and Definitions

  1. Bad Behavior: Harassment, offensive language, discrimination, personal attacks, minority targeting, female attacks, name-calling, threats, hate speech, and disruptive actions in the matchday group, comments, posts, or private conversations. Example: Insulting another player repeatedly.
  2. Proxy Usage : Using multiple accounts, playing on another’s behalf, or account manipulation. Example: A player uses a friend’s account to play in a tournament while their own account is banned.
  3. Match-Fixing: Coordinating with others to manipulate match outcomes for mutual benefit. Example: Two players/teams agree to a draw to avoid elimination.
  4. Multiple Account Registration: Registering under multiple names to gain competitive or registration benefits.
  5. Fake Identity / Name Registration: Registering with false information, compromising transparency. Example: A player uses a fake name or photo to avoid detection.
  6. Submission of False Results: Changing match results, like player names or scores, is not allowed. Those who do it will be banned right away and for a long time.
  7. Violent or Abusive Content: Posting harmful or aggressive messages directed at any player, club, or COBEG. Example: Publishing an abusive rant against other players or teams.
  8. Sharing Negativity: Posting negative posts, comments or messages about any player, team, administrator, or community about COBEG matchday. Any complaints should be submitted through the complain box, and you must respect and adjust to the responses given. Violation of these rules may result in a ban.
  9. False Information Against COBEG: Spreading misinformation about COBEG or its community. Note: If Facebook group admins approve offending posts or comments or messages, they may also face questioning or punishment, this is to prevent fake accounts and ban players from spreading false messages.

2. Card System for Disciplinary Actions

  • Yellow Card
    • Minor offenses, like unsportsmanlike behavior, result in a Yellow Card.
    • Each Yellow Card remains on record for 30 days. A second Yellow Card within this period escalates to a Red Card.
  • Red Card
    • Two Yellow Cards within 30 days or a single infraction result in a Red Card.

3. Ban Durations and Escalation

  1. Ban Duration Determination: Ban durations are determined by the COBEG Committee and may vary based on the context of each incident, even if they appear similar to previous issues.
  2. Red Card: A Red Card triggers a 7 days ban from all community activities.
    • Behavioral Violations: Infractions related to behavior issues, such as bad behavior, will result in a minimum 7 days to maximum 364 days ban.
    • Temporary Bans for Severe Infractions: Significant offenses, including cheating, match-fixing, or proxy usage, incur a minimum of 180 days to maximum of permanent ban. Violent content and false claims against COBEG may also lead to strict actions against involved clubs or group admins.
      • Permanent Ban: Serious or repeated violations, including fixing, proxy, cheating, hate posts, hate comments, hate massages  or malicious misinformation, may result in a permanent ban.

        4. Restrictions for Banned Players

Players who are banned from the community face several restrictions to uphold fairness and deter future infractions. During the ban period, the following activities are prohibited:

        1. Participating in COBEG Matches
          • Banned players lose the privilege of participating in any COBEG-organized matches, including friendly, competitive, and tournament matches.
        2. Registering for New Tournaments
          • Players under a ban cannot register for new tournaments, keeping the opportunity open only to members in good standing.
        3. Using Alternate Accounts
          • Any attempt to create or use alternate accounts to bypass a ban is strictly prohibited. This action may lead to an extended ban or further consequences if discovered.
        4. Representing COBEG in Any Capacity
          • Banned players are prohibited from representing COBEG in any official capacity, whether as part of a team, organization, or in social media interactions on behalf of COBEG.
        5. Engaging in Club Operations
          • Access to club operations, including team management, transfer discussions, and club leadership roles, is revoked for banned players during their ban period.
        6. Receiving Player or Squad Awards
          • Banned players are ineligible for any Player or Squad of the Week/Month (POTW, SOTW, POTM, SOTM) awards, allowing these honors to recognize players with clean records.
        7. Accessing Public COBEG Community Groups (Permanent Bans)
          • Players who receive a permanent ban lose access to all COBEG public community groups and are barred from rejoining, ensuring a safe and positive space for the remaining community.

        5. Ban and Appeals Process

COBEG follows a structured ban process for violations, with an option for appeals to ensure fairness. Players can request a review if they believe their ban warrants reconsideration.

        Ban Process

        • Issuing a Ban: Bans are issued based on evidence gathered by the COBEG committee. Depending on the violation’s severity, bans may range from temporary to permanent, and a ban notice will be displayed on player info (use /search to find it).
          • Duration and Criteria: Bans for behavioral issues typically start at 7 days, while severe cases, like cheating, may lead to bans of 180 days or more or permanent.
          • Information Access: Banned players can check their ban details—such as ban reason and remaining time—via the COBEG info database or search tools.

            Appeals Process

COBEG provides an opportunity for players to appeal, offering a path for reconsideration if specific conditions are met.

            • Submission Period: Appeals must be submitted within 7 days of the ban’s start. Appeals filed beyond this period are generally not reviewed.
              • Review and Decision: Players should clearly state their case with supporting evidence. Each appeal is carefully reviewed by a COBEG committee, which makes a final and binding decision based on fairness and the integrity of the community.

              Apology Option

For longer-term bans, players may submit a formal apology to show sincere regret and commitment to the community’s standards.

              • Eligibility and Compliance: Players serving extended bans may submit an apology if they have adhered to all rules during their ban period.
                • Submission Location: Apologies must be posted publicly in the COBEG eFootball Tournament CommunityFacebook Group to demonstrate a commitment to community values.
                  • Consideration but No Guarantee: Submitting an apology does not ensure the lifting of a ban. The COBEG committee reviews each apology based on the player’s sincerity and history. Note: Players with permanent bans are not eligible for the apology option.

By following these rules, we maintain a respectful, fair, and competitive community. Thank you for your dedication to upholding our shared values.
